In January

 

I admire

from my rocker

by the fire’s side,

 

hot pot of coffee

on the stove,

 

the hale & hardy souls

taking their brisk, well-bundled

January walks.

 

I know I’d be

a better person

if I joined their ranks

 

but there is always

the next chapter

to read

 

and by then it will be

getting dark.
